Author & TV Host

Patrick Rothfuss is an internationally known fantasy writer and master of all things mythic. The first two books of his epic trilogy "The Kingkiller Chronicle" were bestsellers, and millions of fans are clamoring for the release of the third.

When his first novel made it onto the New York Times bestseller list, although very excited, Pat celebrated with Chinese food and an episode of Doctor Who. “That’s just how I roll,” he laughed.  He lives in Wisconsin and has won numerous awards for writing including The Quill Award and Publishers Weekly’s Best Science Fiction/Fantasy/Horror Book of the Year.

"The Kingkiller Chronicle" was recently optioned by Lionsgate with plans for a movie, a television series and video games. With over 235,000 followers on Facebook, over 180,000 on Twitter and with more than 7 million dollars raised by Worldbuilders, his popularity still surprises and delights him.

When he’s not writing, Pat can be found eating ice cream with his sons, making mead and raising money for Worldbuilders, his charity, that donates to organizations including Heifer International. A funny, tell-it-like-it-is storyteller, he makes for an authentic host of Myth or Monster, a series that focuses on one of his main areas of interest – uncovering the fact behind urban legends, local folklore and fiction.
