LadyMarry

Not sure where to start? LadyMarry is a free app that leads couples through the planning process step-by-step. Create an online account, or download the app for your iOS or Android device. Then use it to make customized checklists and organize them by categories. You can also generate timelines with due dates, so you don't lose track of when you need to complete each task, such as sending a final headcount to the caterer or ordering your cake. LadyMarry also lets you search for local vendors and displays their prices, so it's easier to comparison-shop. WeddingMix by StoryMix Media

WeddingMix originated as a company that made custom videos from old-fashioned film reels, slides, videos and photos. Today, this website and its companion app let couples, their friends and families capture all kinds of memorable moments, from first dates to honeymoon trips, as images and videos. WeddingMix experts then turn the images and clips into a production-quality video that can be stored in a cloud, so it’s sharable.

Although WeddingMix prices vary, it can be more budget-friendly than booking most professional videographers. Choose an app-only package or a camera package that willl deliver HD cameras to your doorstep before the big day. After you’ve used them to record the scenes you want, just mail back the cameras, using a prepaid shipping label. When the video is ready, you’ll get to preview it, and once you've given your approval, WeddingMix editors will do the rest. You can opt to download your finished video or receive it on a full-color disk.

Passport to Joy

Developed by professional destination wedding planner Mango Muse Events, Passport to Joy is an online program that can help you save on costs. Think of it as a virtual wedding planner, chronologically organized and complete with how-to videos, detailed worksheets and checklists. The program also gives you access to Jamie Chang, Mango’s owner and destination wedding planning guru.

Lola

Weddings go high-tech with Lola, a mobile app that merges artificial intelligence with the expertise of travel professionals. Simply text your preferred travel plans to Lola—that is, where you’d like to hold your wedding or go for your honeymoon--and the app and agents will respond in real-time with suggested flights, hotels, restaurants, car rental companies and more. Lola can also recommend before-and-after the wedding activities for your guests. You can book directly thought the app, which is available 24/7. A new version of Lola will launch soon, but for now, you’ll need an iPhone 5 or above, with iOS 9, to use it.

Slack

Slack is typically used by corporate team members to communicate with each other, but wedding couples are finding it’s a also great way to stay in touch with their vendors, wedding party members and others. Slack uses channels that you can organize into conversations which can be private or shared with groups. For example, you might use one channel for your maid of honor or another for all the groomsmen. Once you’re inside a conversation, you can share images, PDFs, spreadsheet files and more. Use it online or your mobile device; your input will sync, so everyone stays up to date in real time.

MyPANTONE

It’s hard to match colors when you’re looking at a screen, or even worse, when you’re depending on your memory. Create a profile on MyPANTONE, and you can experiment with colors to find your favorites and make your own color palette. If you prefer, let the program show you colors that are trending. Post your palette, and you can share your color choices and comments with others, while they can comment on yours.  MyPANTONE is available online and as an Android app for $7.99., or as Pantone Studio on iOS devices (prices vary, so see the website for details).

Joy

No matter how easy you make it for people to reply to your wedding invitations, some will forget, and others simply won't follow through. With Joy, a wedding program for your desktop and mobile device, they can RSVP to you directly. Once the big day arrives, they can also upload images to the app, so you can find them easily, without searching social media sites for hashtags. Joy also includes wedding planning features, allowing you to create a wedding website, introduce your guests to one another before the ceremony, schedule fights and other travel plans and more. The app is free for iOS and Android.

WeddingHappy

This free app, available for iOS, asks you to enter the date of your wedding. It then generates a customized to-do list, complete with deadlines. You can also enter your budget and keep track of payments to each vendor you’re using. Give your partner access, and you can both edit and update your plans. A dashboard overview makes it easy to see your progress.
